How does the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender work?

I'm just getting to know it myself, so once I have a better understanding of all that it is capable of, I will write a detailed post about it. What I know so far is, I love it!

So far, I have made a 10-minute Homemade BBQ sauce that tasted as good as when I simmer it for hours. For that recipe, you don't even have to chop anything! The blender does it all. I love that.

I also made a delicious 5-minute tomato soup recipe and that recipe is in the video description of my unboxing video which you can find right here: 10-Minute Homemade BBQ Sauce in the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender

I have also made a quick corn chowder and a few other things that I don't yet have recipes for, but were great! Lunch today was homemade chicken noodle soup. Check out the video of the blender cooking the soup!

Basically, the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender does everything that a high-powered blender will do AND it also heats and cooks food! There are several pre- programmed functions that you can choose from or you can customize your cooking/blending needs by using the manual buttons.

It also comes with a recipe book filled with interesting recipes to try out.

I'm excited to explore all the functions and report back to you soon! If you are interested in purchasing the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender, here is the link to it on Amazon: (affiliate link)Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender

Can I make this recipe in the Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker & Air Crisper?

Absolutely and here is how you do it!

Cut the raw chicken breasts into ½" pieces. Slice the carrots into ½"slices. Chop the jalapeño pepper (remove the seeds and pith for less heat).

Add all of the ingredients to the inner pot of the Ninja Foodi and pressure cook on high for 2 minutes. Immediately release the pressure and you have a delicious homemade tortilla soup!

You can easily double or triple this recipe in the Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker & Air Crisper if you want a larger volume of soup. Just make sure you don't go over the max fill line and, if your pot is fairly full, make sure to do a natural release for at least 5 minutes to avoid any of the broth from spraying out of the release valves.

What are the advantages of making Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup in the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender?

While you might be able to make this soup a little quicker in a pressure cooker, I love the way the blender gently cooks the chicken so it remains very tender. I also like that blender shreds the chicken some during its two, very quick, pulse blends that occur while the soup is cooking.

The blender is a perfect size for small portions and clean up is really easy! The Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender has a clean cycle! So, when you are done making your soup, rinse the blender and add 24 ounces of water with a few drops of dish detergent and select the clean cycle.

While you are enjoying your tortilla soup, the blender will clean itself! After the cycle is done, I rinse it well under hot water and wipe the blender out with a sponge and it's ready for its next culinary adventure.

While your soup is cooking, you can make these delicious Carne Asada Street Tacos in your Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker & Air Crisper! In about 40 minutes, you have a complete dinner on the table!

You are going to love this easy 30-minute homemade chicken tortilla soup and here is how easy it is to make!

How to make an Easy 30-Minute Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup

ingredients for homemade chicken tortilla soup

Cut the jalapeno pepper and remove the seeds if desired. Most of the heat in a jalapeno pepper is in the seeds and the white part (pith), so if you want a mild soup, remove all the seeds. If you want a spicy soup, leave the seeds and pith in the pepper.

Cut the onion in half and remove the outer skin. Remove the outer paper from the garlic cloves. Peel and slice the carrots in ¼" slices. Dice the chicken into ½" dice. Drain the canned beans. Drain the corn if using canned.

Add the jalapeno pepper, onion, garlic cloves, and cilantro to the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender and pulse 2-3 times. Add the chicken stock and pulse 2-3 more times.

Add chicken, seasoning mix, fire roasted tomatoes, carrots, beans, and corn.

Select the Hearty Soup function on the blender. If the carrots aren't submerged in the liquid, use the tamper to press them down into the liquid so they cook evenly.

That's it! Let the Ninja Foodi Hot Cold Blender do the rest!

picture collage of steps for making soup

The hearty soup function on the Ninja Foodi is a pre-set time of 30 minutes. During this time, the blender will heat up and cook the chicken & veggies and, twice during the cycle, you will hear 3 beeps, followed by a very quick pulse blend. You don't need to do anything while the soup is cooking. Sit back and relax or even run an errand!

    https://thesaltedpepper.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Chicken-Tortilla-Soup-in-Blender-Try-This-1.mp4

When the cycle has finished, open the lid. Do this carefully because there is steam released and it's hot. If you want to, you can even pulse the blender a few more times, if you prefer a less chunky soup.

Ladle into bowls and garnish with toppings of choice. As you can see, I didn't add any and it was still delicious! I wonder, though: can I really call this Easy 30-Minute Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup if I didn't add any tortillas? Hmmm...

    Serve & Enjoy!

This was great! My husbands favorite thing is pork Chile verde especially at Nando’s restaurant in Chandler, AZ. I would love your take on chile verde in the Foodi or blender. I have two blenders so I can make twice as much at one time!

This soup was delicious! I got my blender yesterday, made this as my test drive and hubby said this alone made the cost of the blender worth it! Thanks so much for all you do to make our lives so simple and our cooking go great!
