I have been making pot roasts for many years and always disappointed until I tried your recipe. Oh my gosh how delicious that was. My hubby raved about it and can hardly wait to have me make it again. Melt in your mouth meat. Wow. I use a lot of your recipes and have enjoyed every one of them.

I’ve made multiple dozens of traditional “Sunday pot roasts” where I would set the roast in the oven before church and we would all come back and enjoy a meal, 4 hours later. This time I was a little late (and we weren’t headed to church). To be honest, I could taste a slight difference (just slightly not as soft and fall apart meat); but not that much. I absolutely loved this recipe. Usually I don’t coat the meat prior with a herb-flour mix to brown it, but this was a nice addition. After it was done I pulled out the vegetables and I noticed the onions were too soft to serve, so I used an immersion blender and 3/4 cup of brown gravy mix on the sauté setting to make the gravy. It was perfect. Thanks!

I used to have a 6 quart ninja foodi that I tried this recipe with, and the first time I accidentally used rump roast which wasn’t as flavorful and moist. But the juices still tasted pretty good. The 2nd and 3rd times I made this recipe, I bought chuck roast and it came out a whole lot better. It was so delicious. Unfortunately, I gave the ninja foodi away because it was so hard to clean the crisping part but I decided to get an 8 quart instant pot and I will say, it works just as well! I’ve made it once in my instant pot and I am actually cooking it again right now as we speak for the hubs and I’s dinner! Love love love this recipe. Thank you so much! It’s my go to 🙂

I love doing pot roasts in my Foodi. The taste is great, it's pull apart tender, but sometimes on the chewy side. How can it be fall apart, but chewy?

    • Louise says

It could be the cut of meat, sometimes that happens. Or, it could be slightly overcooked which causes it to be chewy.

I love this recipe. I have made it before it and it is really quick and easy. My next favorite is the double-decker lasagna Props to you for such great recipes. My only problem here was I had to copy cut and paste the recipe as the print function did not work.

    • Louise says

If you refresh your browser the print function should work fine. I'm not sure what is causing the issue, but that usually fixes it.

        Hi Louise,
Hope you are well. I have had same problem with printing and it doesn't matter what I do. I've tried different browsers but all that happens is it opens another window with the same page on it.

Did you refresh your browser? Try that and let me know
