Can this be adjusted to make with slow cooker setting?

    • Louise says

I haven't tried that, but I think it would take a really long time for the beans to soften enough using slow cook and you would need more liquid due to evaporation while slow cooking.

Making this recipe with navy beans ( what I have on hand). If I want to add chunk of potatoes, at what point would I add them. Guessing it would be at the end and just saute.

    • Louise says

That's what I would do. I think it's just as fast as adding them and then going under pressure again for a few minutes.

I can't tell you how happy I am about finding this webpage!!

For your ham soup, I have a frozen bone, could that work without being defrosted.. something tells me yes, but I figured I would ask

    • Louise says

I'm pretty sure it would be just fine!

You can still get spinach, squash and baby limas in the box. What I can not get frozen is tuna and noodles and yes, it's easy to make but hubby won't eat it and I don't think it would home freeze well. Love this bean soup recipe..we eat a lot of soups. Thanks for all you do.

I'm so glad you like it! I think you could freeze tuna and noodles and it would reheat okay.

Why can't you use 15 bean mix of beans?

    • Louise says

You can use whatever bean(s) you want. I have another ham and bean soup in my Flavors of Fall cookbook that does use that 15 bean mix.
